Social Housing Site – Middleton, South Leeds
Client: Esh Build

Challenging brownfield regeneration site with weak bearing strata and high water table providing the toughest of conditions in which to work. These were duly overcome to provide piled foundation ringbeams, large diameter deep drainage and large diameter traditionally built manholes as part of Section 104 adoptable drainage system,  full construction  Section 38 adoptable highway / footpaths, shared and private driveways and lastly the residential hard & soft landscaping.

CT Scanner Unit Extension – Scunthorpe General Hospital
Client: F Parkinson

Delicate scheme involving the construction of an extension to the Hospital in order to relocate the CT Scanner. All Wards & Corridors remained opened to patients and staff during the construction phase and noise, dust & vibrations were kept to a minimum throughout by carrying out hand excavations and utilising only micro plant. A precision laid floor slab allowed for the seamless relocation of the the actual CT Scanner resulting in minimal clinical capacity loss for the Hospital.

2 No. Extensions, Pedestrian Footbridge, New MUGA & New Car Park – Totley Primary School
Client: Engie Regeneration

Hugely complex scheme taking place in 5 different locations within the school. All within the confines of an already tight site and maintaining a safe environment  for staff and pupils along with protected drop off & pickup times. The larger 3 storey extension was set into a hillside with a waterproof RC basement and associated underpinning works to the existing aged assembly hall. All new drainage was carefully integrated into existing systems whilst maintaining live flows. The pedestrian bridge was skillfully placed on screw piles.

New 60 Bed Care Home – Boston Spa
Client: Galliford Try Partnerships

Intricate substructure and drainage package involving more than 500m3 foundations at multiple stepped locations. All associated sub slab drainage, high spec landscaped sensory gardens for residents, permeable car park and attenuation tank etc whilst maintaining live existing footpath through the site and respecting existing residential cul-de-sac at site entrance location.

7 No Industrial Units  - Thorpe Arch Industrial Estate
Client: Hobson Porter

Classic large scale industrial project involving large pour floor slabs and high volume surface water runoff attenuation forming part of mass warehousing / logistics space, along with all associated foul drainage, car parking, data / comms / utility provision, yard aprons and external works.

200 No. Apartments – Kelham Island, Sheffield
Client: Keepmoat

Flagship build as part of the highly prestigious redevelopment of the Historic City’s burgeoning cultural quarter arising in the wake of it’s de-industrialisation. As well as the typical groundwork & drainage this scheme was notable for its luxury hard landscaping, a fusion of natural pennine sandstone and imported Vietnamese flamed granite, laid to precision finishes using a proprietary mortar bedding system. Also pioneered the world’s first combined attenuating slot drain as part of RAB’s design input / value engineering proposals as the site constraints didn’t allow the required attenuation capacity.      

New Build 60 Bedroom Hotel & Retail Complex – Mansfield Town Centre
Client: Harris Construction Management

Innovative & technically challenging scheme involving the demolition of a bingo hall (no players present!) whilst retaining a historical adjoining facade. Combined retaining walls acting as load bearing foundations, lift shafts and ground bearing floor slabs all undertaken as phased sequential operation. Ultra modern car park with smart security & access systems. EV charging points, alarmed fuel interceptors, usual drainage/manholes/attenuation, new multi flight RC pedestrian staircase with retaining parapets and lastly a full refurbishment of the existing on site substation.
